That will give you enough to bite on the remaining threads. M12 bolt is factory. So a 1/2-inch bolt has a diameter of 12.7mm. It may work. Give it a try. This is a replacement for that opening and will cut new threads in the hoe with a steeper (1.75) pitch. Take some of the JB Weld or epoxy and glue the parts back together, bracing or clamping the broken part. Fill the screw hole too and be very generous with the weld, epoxy.
