WebStaff Bios. Helene Achanzar is a Filipina Canadian poet and educator. Her writing can be found in Oxford American, jubilat, Sixth Finch, and elsewhere. Before joining the Poetry Northwest staff, she was the senior editor of Yalobusha Review. She works as the programs manager at the Chicago Poetry Center.
